UK broadcaster Sky One have a new TV show called Sudoku live which is presented by Carol Vorderman. Sudoku is a logic craze that (according to the pr blurb we were sent is 'sweeping the nation' - although when the call came in we have to admit we'd never heard of it!) Sky asked us to pull off a pr stunt to publicise the launch of the show, so we decided to go for a world record and create the largest puzzle on earth! We used white tarpaulins and plastic sheeting to create the design. Sky One ran a competition to coincide with the creation of the massive Sudoku grid asking people to try and solve the puzzle. The winner was awarded 5000 pounds.
The puzzle was prominently featured in 6 national newspapers as well as on BBC news.
Above: An Aerial view of the massive Sudoku puzzle. There's a car and some people on the top left hand corner to give you an ideal of the scale of the design.
Above: It was right next to the M4 just outside Bristol and could be seen from over a mile away as you approached it on the road.
